Welcome to the Sacks & Kolken
Buffalo Cam. Our video weather cam is located in the Statler Towers (built in
1921) on historic Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, New York.
It is the first downtown Buffalo, New York weather cam on the
web. Downtown

Frequent visitors will notice that during the course of the day, the
Buffalo Cam is not always pointing in the same direction. During
the morning, your view will probably include Buffalo's historic
Niagara Square, allowing visitors the opportunity to view Buffalo City
Hall and/or the 1901 McKinley Park Monument (the marble obelisk
in the very center of the Niagara Square). Since the Cam points at
different buildings in the Square, visitors may also catch a view of
Lake Erie behind City Hall. In the afternoon, the Buffalo Cam may
overlook the U.S. Federal Court House building, and baring another “No
Goal” or “Miracle at Music City” incident, the Cam will be the
eye in the sky for the next victory celebration for either the Buffalo
Bills or Buffalo Sabres. |

Why add the Buffalo Cam to your list of “favorites”? Well,
in addition to being able to see different views of the beautiful Art
Deco design of City Hall and historic Niagara Square, as well as
victory celebrations for the Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Sabres, the
cam’s eye view allows local area travelers and our Canadian
neighbors headed for Buffalo an opportunity to check actual weather
conditions in the city. Currently, the “Buffalo Cam” offers the
only view of downtown Buffalo. |

Buffalo weather isn’t nearly as cloudy as say, Buffalo’s
“sister city” Seattle. And during the summer months (June through
mid September) weather is usually in the mid ’70s and sunny, with low
humidity (unlike hot and humid cities such Boston, Philadelphia, New
York and, of course, Washington, D.C.). Buffalo is thought of as being
one of the snow capitals of the North. However, Buffalonians know that
most of the heavy snow that their city is known for actually falls
about forty miles to south, in places like Colden and Ellicottville (“Ski
Country”), and not in Buffalo itself. During winter, blowing and
drifting snows are the main reason city driving in Buffalo can become
difficult.
However, weather patterns are changing nationwide! What
the future holds for Buffalo is anyone’s guess. How the Buffalo Cam
documents weather in Buffalo should prove to be very interesting indeed.
