Frederick Law Olmstead created numerous parks, parkways and circles
throughout the city of Buffalo. We were unable to photograph the extensive
damage to entire park system, since it was not easy to get around to
all the areas of the city during the weeks that followed the storm.
What we have photographed here is, in the main, the area around Delaware
Park. We were unable to document the damage to Cazenovia Park, Front
Park, Martin Luther King, Jr. Park (previously Humboldt Park), or South
Park. Likewise, we were unable to document the extensive damage to
communties such as Amherst and Williamsville where damage was extensive.
Please visit the Buffalo Concervancy web site and other sites that
document the damage, and also provide information about what you can
do to help restore the park to its former condition.
